Reading My Way Through Image Comics: The Hunt for 10 Runs Worth Your Shelf Space

I am working my way through Image Comics to find 10 runs that hold up. Here is what is on the stack and what I think so far.

Image Comics has always been the place where creators swing for the fences. No editorial mandates, no continuity police, no pulling punches. That freedom produces some of the best comics being published right now, but it also means the catalog is massive and not everything lands the same way.

So I am doing the work. I am reading my way through Image’s current and recent runs to find 10 that I think are genuinely worth your time and money. This is not a ranking pulled from other people’s lists or a quick skim of first issues. I am reading full volumes before anything makes the cut.

This article will grow as I go. Consider it a living document. I will add my thoughts on each run as I finish it, and the list will build over time until we hit 10.

    What’s on the Reading Stack

These are the runs I have queued up. Some were recommended, some caught my eye on the shelf, and some have been on my radar for a while. Not all of them will make the final 10. That is the whole point.

    • Exquisite Corpses Volume 1 — reading now
    • Black Ritual: The Book of Nyx (Spawn) — up next
    • Witchblade Volume 1
    • Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Volume 1

More titles will be added as recommendations come in and as I dig deeper into the catalog. If you think something belongs on this list, let me know.
